Some stories concern domestic leagues. Others concern an event hosted in the Kingdom or a commercial relationship that extends beyond it. Those connections deserve their own names. We do not treat “Saudi-backed” and “Saudi-hosted” as interchangeable descriptions.

A tactical adjustment, a tournament format and an ownership announcement are different stories. Each can be interesting without pretending to explain everything else. Our longer guides give readers an accessible starting point and a route toward the relevant official information.
